SWtoR Developer Dispatch: Diverse Worlds

Star Wars: The Old Republic devs have treated us with another video showing of their design choices and some unseen footage of the four planets that have been revealed so far. I’ve been playing Mass Effect lately. Didn’t have time for it when it first came out so in preparation for SW:toR I’m brushing up on Bioware games. That galaxy image looks a lot like the galaxy map in Mass Effect. I am guessing we’ll have a similar interface to that to jump planets.

I must admit I love the video. It gets me excited every time they release some imagery from the game. Makes me want to play it right now! Pity it will be a year or more before this is really true. Enjoy the video bellow – and watch it in HD – it is well worth it.

Twitter and World of Warcraft

After the latest Peggle for WoW addon PlayXpert has now integrated another tool into their “in-game operating system” – Twitter! This addon is adding Twitter functionality to the existing PlayXpert software, which works with WoW and other online PC games.

Besides allowing normal Twitter messages, the Twitter widget can also automatically post when you enter or leave a game.

Wow Children’s Week

Children’s Week is celebrated once a year in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, and Shattrath City from 1st to 8th May . The week-long celebration is a time to give back to the innocents of war: the orphans! This year’s occurrence of the holiday is accompanied by new achievements, which can be found in the World Events tab of the Achievements menu.

Argent Tournament Mounts

In an upcoming minor patch, faction mounts offered by vendors on the Argent Tournament grounds will have their visual appearances improved. You will find that the mounts being offered will better match the colours of the faction you chose to represent. Mounts already purchased at the Argent Tournament will automatically be replaced with the updated mounts when this patch goes live.
